April 2008 Newsletter

Please accept my apologies that the April issue is late. I'm having problems with my carrier, and I'm not certain how many are receiving their e-newsletters.
I hope everyone had a blessed Resurrection Day.

I was blessed to be part of two dynamic events during March. The first was a program called "An Intimate Evening with the Father." It was exhilarating from the various prayers from different ministers to the soul-stirring mime performance.
My month ended with a book club discussion on Guilty of Love hosted by Kelly Shaw and her Christian women's group. The meeting spot was at the Whistle Stop, an actual place in my novel. It was so fun to hear people try to find the streets and houses in the historic town.

The month was also busy for my family. Check out my daughter's bowling team, The Lady Eagles.
The sales for Guilty of Love had a comeback. Thank you everyone!
What's next?
Get ready for Talk to Me, November 2008.
Not Guilty of Love (Book II, the sequel to Guilty of Love), September 2009.
Still Guilty (Book III, the final book of the series), April 2010.
I have some links I would like to pass on this month.
First, I'm so excited and proud of St. Louis native and Urban Books Essence best selling author, Brenda Hampton, who had a vision to take books to readers. Please visit her site and support her mission. www.booksonwheels.homestead.com
Second, this is something I think you need to know about especially if you receive a lot of emails. It's an email death threat, but it's a hoax. Visit the FBI's official website.
Finally, after that informative link, here's something you can laugh about on Youtube and put in search: Walmart baby.

WHAT MADE MY DAY IN MARCH...
THE ADVENTURES OF SPRING BREAK.
The top things that you don't want to happen on Spring Break...
1. Forty-five minutes of a plane roller-coaster ride en route to Las Vegas, NV. With arms linked, my husband, another passenger, and I began praying. When the plane landed despite the powerful wind gusts, I was the first to say, "Hallelujah," followed by another passenger's "Amen."
2. We sat in traffic for four hours not knowing the highway patrol was still conducting an investigation into a double fatality on that stretch of Interstate 15 in Las Vegas. It appears a driver, having car problems, pulled to the side of the road and was hit.
When a female passenger from his car got out to flag down a motorist for help, she was allegedly hit by a semi-tractor. That driver kept going. Hopefully, that hit and run driver was tracked down and jailed.
3. Getting struck on a Monorail over the interstate, especially when you hear the engine pop.
4. Running like O.J., but legally, to catch our flight. The passengers had already boarded the plane. Two minutes later, and we plane would have left the gate. That's another Hallelujah.http://photos.patsimmons.net/

Here's the latest author from the Urban Christian imprint with her new novel: Troubles Won't Last Always. It is a common saying, however for me the message I am trying to relay is simply, hold on until your change come. You will have to go through the bumps and bruises of life in order to understand what God is saying that you may grow into the blessing he has in store for you. I don't believe the trial is a purging process as much as it is a grooming process to receive your blessing.
